The World Federation of Trade Unions, which represents the voice of 105 million workers worldwide in 133 countries, expresses its full support to Amar Lagah, General Secretary of the Fédération CGT du Commerce, the largest CGT Federation in the private sector in France and affiliated to the WFTU.
Amar Lagah, just like hundreds of activists of the CGT trade union, is the target of a complaint by the management of a retail chain, and the police have decided to summon him to the Nanterre police station on 26 March 2025: a summons that constitutes a full-scale attack on class-based trade unionism in the retail sector.
The WFTU salutes all the CGT organizations that have called for solidarity and for massive participation in the rally in support of our comrade Amar Lagah: solidarity is our only strength against police arbitrariness and employer repression!
