EUROF – European Regional Office of the WFTU expresses the solidarity of the European trade unions, workers and employees with the trade union Ver.Di in Munich for the attack suffered today during the march of public sector workers in childcare centres fighting for the renewal of their economic contract. Solidarity goes out to the injured victims of the serious attack and to the entire German trade union for this deliberate aggression which resulted in many injuries, some of them serious.
The right to demonstrate safely must always be guaranteed by the local authorities and it is inconceivable that a car could be deliberately thrown at a trade union demonstration, including many children, causing injuries.
Eurof demands that those directly and indirectly responsible for the attempted massacre of trade union demonstrators be investigated and severely punished.
