Trade Union Association of Bohemia, Moravia & Silesia (Czech Republic) fully supports the employees of the E. ON Energy Group and their Trade Union organization during their collective bargaining and concurrent strike emergency.
We perceive the demands of 3,400 employees of the E. ON Energy Group (in Czech Republic) for the wage growth as to be justified. We condemn the delays and obstruction in collective bargaining by the employer, including the protracted negotiations before the intermediary assigned by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
We see that the E. ON is one of the largest private energy companies in the world. It is managed through the E. ON, based in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The E. ON Energy Group enjoys the largest transnational background in the domestic electricity and gas market. Ignoring and refusing to acknowledge the legitimate demands for wage growth of employees is an example of the exploitation of employees at the expense of accumulating company profits and exporting them abroad.
It is ridiculous that while average wages have increased by 89 % in the Czech Republic since 2014, one of the biggest players in the energy market offers its employees in the Czech Republic wage growth of only 8 %. We condemn such a behaviour.
We stand in solidarity with employees and unions of the E. ON Energy Group in their wage demands. Adequate wages must be achieved.
