The European Regional Office of WFTU expresses its solidarity with the strike mobilizations organized by PAME in all cities of Greece against the unacceptable legislation of the Greek government. The legislation in essence will open the way to the privatization of the public pension system and will bring about cuts in public health.
In Greece and in other countries as well, the European Union and the governments promote in coordination anti-popular policies, attacks against working and social rights with the main aim to serve the interests of the big capital and the multinational companies.
The answer to the generalized attack of the European Union and the governments against the public social pension concerns the whole of the workers in Europe and shows the need for coordination of class struggles as well the expression of solidarity as an answer to the anti-popular policies.
We fully support the struggles of the Greek working class under the leadership of PAME and their demands for the abolishment of the legislation, the right to pension for all and the abolishment of the increase in retirement age.
