The activities of the World Federation of Trade Unions’ International Week of Solidarity with Cuba have begun with great success across all regions of the world.
Trade unions and workers from Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Arab world are already organizing mobilizations, meetings, workplace initiatives, and solidarity actions expressing their firm support for the Cuban people and workers. Demonstrations, gatherings outside embassies, and campaigns for the collection of material aid are taking place, sending a strong internationalist message against the unjust blockade.
The WFTU salutes all affiliates and friends who have responded to the call and have taken the initiative to organize activities in their countries. The participation of class-oriented trade unions confirms that international solidarity remains a powerful weapon of the workers.
The International Week of Action continues. We call on all affiliates and partners to intensify their initiatives, expand solidarity actions, and strengthen practical support for Cuba.
