ENEDEP dockworkers’ union expresses its solidarity and support for USB and the workers in Italy who resisted the transport of military material and blocked the “trains of death.”
The stance of the workers in Piombino, Pisa, and other areas shows the way forward. Workers are not accomplices to the war plans of governments and business interests. We will not become cogs in the machinery of war.
The transformation of ports, factories, and railway networks into hubs for the transportation of weapons is a dangerous development for the peoples and workers of all Europe. At the same time that billions of euros are being directed toward armaments, workers are being forced to pay the price through rising costs of living, energy poverty, and the continuous deterioration of our living conditions.
Workers have nothing to gain from war. On the contrary, it is workers who pay the price through poverty, insecurity, and the loss of rights.
We stand with the workers who refuse to load and transport weapons. International solidarity is the strongest response against the escalation of war.
Workers will not pay the price of war.
No to the militarization of ports and infrastructure.
No to the trains and ships of death.
Stop the transport of weapons now.
