To relaunch 8th March as a day of internationalist struggle against war, imperialism and capitalism 8th March is not a symbolic anniversary or an institutional celebration.
It is a day of struggle born out of the labour movement and working women’s struggle against capitalist exploitation, war and oppression.
Imperialist wars, the militarisation of societies and the repression of struggles particularly affect working-class women: in the workplace, in families, in war-torn territories, in forced migration. But working women are not only victims: they have always been protagonists of organised resistance, strikes, trade union and anti-imperialist struggles.
From the women workers who opposed the First World War, to the women who were the driving force behind revolutions and the anti-fascist resistance, to the women workers who today fight against war, occupation, repression and exploitation, history shows that there can be no peace without social justice, nor emancipation without class struggle.
This debate aims to reaffirm the class significance of 8 March, denounce the role of capitalism and imperialism in the production of war and repression, and strengthen the internationalist coordination of working women organised in the WFTU.

We invite all the comrades, delegates, friends to participate in the event.
