USB Scuola expresses its full solidarity with the education workers of
San Francisco,
who are on strike with the United Educators of San Francisco (UESF).
The mobilization stems from the failure of negotiations on wages and
fundamental rights, starting with the demand for fully funded family
healthcare, and extending to dignity at work, job stability, and quality
public education.
Policies that squeeze wages and welfare produce the same effects
everywhere: precariousness, forced turnover, and the impoverishment of
the education system.
It is a dynamic that we know well in Italy too.
USB Scuola stands alongside those who fight for fair contracts, health
protection, and public education free from the neoliberal logic of
welfare cuts at the expense of workers.
