27 gennaio, ore 18, Webinar internazionale: “I Portuali non lavorano per la guerra”. Verso la Giornata internazionale di azione congiunta dei porti del 6 febbraio
I sindacati Enedep di Grecia, Lab dei Paesi Baschi, Liman-Is di Turchia, ODT del Marocco e USB in Italia hanno organizzato un webinar internazionale per comunicare tutte le informazioni sulla Giornata internazionale di azione e lotta il 6 febbraio 2026.

In quella giornata, i lavoratori portuali di circa 21 tra i più importanti porti europei e del Mediterraneo, da Tangeri a Mersin, passando Bilbao, da gran parte dei porti italiani e dal Pireo ed Elefsina, manifesteranno e sciopereranno insieme, una forma concreta di protesta al quale non si assisteva da mesi, convocata sulle seguenti motivazioni:
per garantire che i porti europei e mediterranei siano luoghi di pace e liberi da qualsiasi coinvolgimento nella guerra;
per opporsi agli effetti dell’economia di guerra sui nostri salari, pensioni, diritti e condizioni di salute e sicurezza
per bloccare tutte le spedizioni di armi dai nostri porti verso il genocidio in Palestina e verso qualsiasi altra zona di guerra, e per chiedere un embargo commerciale su Israele da parte dei governi e delle istituzioni locali;
per opporsi al piano di riarmo dell’UE e per fermare l’imminente piano dell’UE e dei governi europei di militarizzare i porti e le infrastrutture strategiche;
per respingere il riarmo come alibi per introdurre ulteriore privatizzazioni e automazione dei porti.
Oltre i rappresentanti delle organizzazioni che hanno lanciato la giornata del 6 febbraio, al webinar parteciperanno esponenti sindacali di altri porti e settori provenienti da più Paesi, tra gli altri Chris Smalls sindacalista Amazon e Leandro Manfredi rappresentante dei lavoratori petroliferi brasiliani, insieme a esponenti del movimento globale per la Palestina e dal Sud America, tra gli altri Saif Abukeshek dello steering committee del global movement to Gaza e sindacalista catalano.

On that day, port workers from around 21 of the most important European and Mediterranean ports — from Tangier to Mersin, via Bilbao, the majority of Italian ports, Piraeus and Elefsina — will demonstrate and strike together. This is a form of protest that has not been seen for months and has been called for the following reasons:
– to ensure that European and Mediterranean ports are places of peace, free from any involvement in war;
– to oppose the effects of the war economy on our wages, pensions, rights, and health and safety conditions;
– to block all arms shipments from our ports to Palestine and any other war zone; to call for a trade embargo on Israel by local governments and institutions;
– to oppose the EU’s rearmament plan; to stop the EU and European governments’ imminent plan to militarise ports and strategic infrastructure;
– to reject rearmament as an excuse for further port privatisation and automation.
In addition to the representatives of the organisations that launched the day of action on 6 February, the webinar will be attended by trade union representatives from ports and other sectors in several countries. These include Chris Smalls, an Amazon trade unionist; Leandro Manfredi, a representative of Brazilian oil workers; and representatives of the global movement for Palestine and from South America. These representatives include Saif Abukeshek, a member of the steering committee of the global movement to Gaza, and a Catalan trade unionist.
