The first day of the WFTU Presidential Council Meeting
The first day of works of the 2023 Annual Presidential Council Meeting of the World Federation of Trade Union kicked off today in Nicosia with the participation of 50 delegates from 32 countries who constitutes the collective leadership of the WFTU and represent its 105 million workers.
The first-day program started with the visit of the delegates to the Labour Museum of PEO and they laid wreaths and flowers for the monument to unsung heroes of the working class. Afterward, the WFTU President, Mzwandile Makwayiba open the works of the meeting and then PEO General Secretary, Sotiroula Charalambous delivered a welcome speech. The WFTU General Secretary, Pambis Kyritsis addressed the Meeting with his introduction speech after the projection of the WFTU 2022 Report of Action Video.
The works of the first day continues with the discussion and the intervention of the delegates.
Second day of the WFTU Presidential Council Meeting
The works of the WFTU Annual Presidential Council Meeting of the year 2023 resume for the second and last day with WFTU Finance Control Committee Report and the conclusion of the rich discussion through the interventions of the members of the Presidential Council.
After the conclusion of the interventions, the Presidential Council Members will adopt the 2023 Action Plan, FCC report, and PSM Resolutions.
Conclusion of the WFTU Presidential Council Meeting
The works of the WFTU Annual Presidential Council Meeting of the year 2023 resumed for the second and last day with the WFTU Finance Control Committee Report and the conclusion of the rich discussion through the interventions of the members of the Presidential Council.
The Presidential Council Members adopted the 2023 Action Plan, FCC report, and PSM Resolutions.
The works of 2023 Meeting concluded with the Closing Speech of WFTU General Secretary, Pambis Kyritsis.
