The USB appeals to the Italian government to take immediate action to help the people affected by the earthquake that struck Anatolia tonight, claiming thousands of victims.
In particular, the USB calls on the government to freeze all the huge financial resources that Italy is allocating to the theatre of war in Ukraine, so that they can be redirected to help the people who have been so badly affected.
Not only those of Turkey – as already announced by the Minister of Civil Protection, Musumeci – but also those of Syria, which our government seems to have forgotten, and the tormented Kurdish people.
The USB also demands that the Meloni government takes action with other EU countries so that they act in exactly the same way.
Let’s stop the arms, let’s help the people affected by the earthquake.
