The PEO expresses its solidarity and support with the general strike of French workers on 19 January against the unjust reform and the increase of the retirement age to 64.
In France, as in many European countries, the government is once again attacking the right to a decent pension at a time when high prices and inflation have crushed the standard of living of every worker throughout Europe and social inequalities and poverty are becoming more acute.
French workers continue to fiercely resist neoliberal policies as they did during the historic general strike from December 2019 to March 2020, where Macron’s government was forced to withdraw the pension reform proposal.
The class struggles of the workers in France and throughout Europe send a message of hope and give strength to the struggles of the workers for a new course.
We assure the French workers that we stand by their side, in solidarity with their struggles and strikes.
