The European regional office of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), Eurof, expresses its full class solidarity with the French students fighting for a better education system, the right to education, and a future free from repression, war, exploitation and widespread poverty.
As workers organised within the international, class-based trade union WFTU, we stand unhesitatingly alongside the students. We demand an end to the brutal repression they are facing, the immediate release of those arrested and a solution to the extremely serious issues that render schools unsafe and dilapidated, lacking the resources necessary for adequate, high-quality learning. The dramatic crisis caused by the EU’s austerity and warmongering policies, which are resulting in exorbitant rises in the cost of living, fuel, energy and basic necessities across all European countries, is the real cause of the anger sweeping across Europe amongst young people and the working class. We must stop war policies and halt the imperialist and warmongering projects of the European Union and austerity governments. We must stand shoulder to shoulder with those fighting and demonstrating in every country to assert the rights of the oppressed and exploited.
Le bureau r\u00e9gional europ\u00e9en de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration syndicale mondiale (FSM), Eurof, exprime sa pleine solidarit\u00e9 de classe avec les \u00e9tudiants fran\u00e7ais qui se battent pour un syst\u00e8me \u00e9ducatif meilleur, pour le droit \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9ducation et pour un avenir exempt de r\u00e9pression, de guerre, d\u2019exploitation et de pauvret\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9e.
En tant que travailleurs organis\u00e9s au sein de la FSM, syndicat international de classe, nous nous rangeons sans h\u00e9siter aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des \u00e9tudiants. Nous exigeons la fin de la r\u00e9pression brutale dont ils sont victimes, la lib\u00e9ration imm\u00e9diate des personnes arr\u00eat\u00e9es et une solution aux probl\u00e8mes extr\u00eamement graves qui rendent les \u00e9tablissements scolaires dangereux, d\u00e9labr\u00e9s et d\u00e9pourvus des ressources n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 un apprentissage ad\u00e9quat et de qualit\u00e9. La crise dramatique provoqu\u00e9e par les politiques d’aust\u00e9rit\u00e9 et bellicistes de l’UE, qui entra\u00eenent des hausses exorbitantes du co\u00fbt de la vie, du carburant, de l’\u00e9nergie et des produits de premi\u00e8re n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 dans tous les pays europ\u00e9ens, est la v\u00e9ritable cause de la col\u00e8re qui d\u00e9ferle \u00e0 travers l’Europe parmi les jeunes et la classe ouvri\u00e8re. Nous devons mettre un terme aux politiques bellicistes et bloquer les projets imp\u00e9rialistes de l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne et des gouvernements d\u2019aust\u00e9rit\u00e9.
