October 3rd National Assembly in Genoa October 30th \u2013 International Day of Port Workers\u2019 Struggle<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8 unions in 7 European and Mediterranean countries, with the participation of the Segdamelin-Peo union in Cyprus, will join together in the struggle on October 30th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We call on all unions and port workers\u2019 groups to join those French, Greek, Basque, Turkish, Moroccan, Italian, and Cypriot ports that will fight together on that day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 against any complicity in the use of ports as bases for loading and transit for genocide and wars;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 to stop governments and their wars, their rearmament plans, and the ongoing militarization of ports and strategic infrastructure;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 to counter the connected process of port automation and the use of AI to eliminate thousands of jobs;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 to demand that resources not be spent on weapons but to raise wages, pensions, and guarantee public services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Port workers do not work for war. Port workers work for peace and for the dignity of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
