Otra triste noticia desde Colombia sobre el asesinato de Mar\u00eda Reyes Montenegro, Secretaria de la Mujer en la Junta directiva del SINTRAEMSDES y trabajadora de la Empresa de Servicios P\u00fablicos de Quilichao desde hace m\u00e1s de 20 a\u00f1os. Luchadora, sindicalista del sindicato SINTRAEMDES, afiliado a la Federaci\u00f3n Sindical Mundial. Est\u00e1 claro que los asesinatos en serie de sindicalistas en Colombia tienen como objetivo aterrorizar a los trabajadores y a su movimiento. Aquellos que tienen un inter\u00e9s en la ausencia de un movimiento sindical de clase militante organizado que defienda a los trabajadores y sus derechos. En nombre de la Federaci\u00f3n Sindical Mundial expresamos nuestra solidaridad con los sindicatos de clase colombianos y rendimos homenaje a la sindicalista asesinada. Los asesinos deben saber que matando a sindicalistas no s\u00f3lo no pueden acabar con el sindicalismo y las luchas sociales, sino que las reforzar\u00e1n a\u00fan m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the murder of Mariela Reyes Montenegro, the WFTU General Secretary made the following statement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another sad news from Colombia about the murder of Maria Reyes Montenegro, Women’s Secretary on the Board of Directors of SINTRAEMSDES and worker of the Quilichao Public Services Company for more than 20 years. Struggler, trade unionist of SINTRAEMDES, a trade union affiliated to the World Federation of Trade Unions.It is clear that the serial murders of trade unionists in Colombia are aimed at terrorising workers and their movement. Those who have an interest in the absence of an organised militant class-based trade union movement defending workers and their rights. On behalf of the World Federation of Trade Unions we express our solidarity with the Colombian class unions and pay tribute to the murdered trade unionist. The assassins must know that killing trade unionists not only cannot end trade unionism and social struggles, but will strengthen them even more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
